Biography
Cameryn Baum graduated Summa Cum Laude from Arizona State University (ASU) in May 2020 with her Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance on cello, and earned the Moeur Award from the ASU Alumni Association for graduating with a 4.00 GPA.
While she spent most of her time at ASU studying music theory, history, psychology, pedagogy, and performance, Cameryn also enjoyed classes focusing on social behavior and arts administration. This love led her to working for the Mesa Arts Center as an administrative assistant during her senior year of college.
Nowadays, Cameryn spends most of her time teaching! She is a Fourth Grade Teacher at Great Hearts Archway Arete by day, and a private instructor by night. Having started her private cello studio in high school, she continues to accept new students of all ages, teaching both classical and folk music styles. She is also a certified Suzuki instructor, and aims to begin public group classes! To continue expanding her knowledge of teaching folk music, Cameryn has worked on staff with the Gilbert Town Fiddlers and String Play.
When she’s not teaching, Cameryn is practicing for her next performance. From an intimate engagement, an elementary school assembly, a Sunday church service, a backyard wedding, to a Michael Bublé concert, Cameryn has nearly done it all!
With her diploma in one hand and her cello in the other, Cameryn is excited to continue learning all she can about teaching and playing the cello.
